Leadership Project for IDP Youth and Youth Living in Conflict Zone Bordering Communities

Georgian Adult Education Network (GAEN) with the financial support of the US Embassy in Georgia successfully implemented Leadership Project for IDP Youth and Youth Living in Conflict Zone Bordering Communities. The project aimed at enhancing the civic activism and initiative among 500 youngsters living in Koda IDP Settlements, Ditsi, Mereti, Ergneti, Jvari IDP Settlements, Fakhulani, Fotskho-Etseri, Mujava and Rukhi; encouraging youth cooperation with the local authorities and their participation in decision making process at the local level. The participants were trained on leadership, effective communication, community needs assessment, municipal law and forms of the civic engagement, project design and management topics. Afterwards, the participants, divided into 5 groups, prepared concrete project proposals and implemented it in their local communities with the active cooperation with local government and different organizations.
